THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Eight people were injured in an accident which occurred near Pappanamcode  Junction in the outskirts of the city on Thursday evening. According to the Traffic Police officials, the accident occurred at 4.50 pm in front of Sree Ragam theatre near Pappanamcode Junction  when a mini tourist bus hit an Indica car. As a result, the car went out of control and rammed into a motorcycle and an autorickshaw  travelling in front. The motorcycle rider lost his balance and he and his vehicle fell beneath a tourist bus.

Geetha, Vijayakumar and Radhika, who were travelling in the Indica car, and Vijayan and Kumari, who were in the autorickshaw, and the motorcyclist, Subair, were injured in the accident. The injured were admitted to a private hospital near Killipalam.

According to the Nemom SI, the accident occurred owing to careless driving of the mini  bus driver.
