THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The staff pattern existing in the grama panchayats will be reviewed, Minister for Panchayats M K Muneer has said. The drawbacks in the existing pattern and the heavy load of work for the staff have prompted the State Government to reconsider the pattern, the Minister said in a press statement here.

The government had appointed a committee comprising Panchayat former director K R Muraleedharan and State Performance Audit Officer S Divakaran Pillai to conduct a study on the needs of staff deployment in local bodies after consultation with the stakeholders. The committee submitted its report on Thursday.
