THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health care is the duty and responsibility of every individual, said Health Minister Adoor Prakash. He was speaking after inaugurating a seminar on ‘good health adds life to years’ organised by the State Health Department as part of the World Health Day observance here on Saturday.
A healthy population is the biggest asset of any country. In the wake of the increase in the life expectancy rate, the Health Department and the Social Security Mission are organising various programmes for the welfare of the aged, the Minister said.
Mayor K Chandrika presided over the function. Health Department director P K Jameela, councillor Palayam Rajan, T Peethambaran, B Unnikrishnan, N Sreedhar and Samuel Chellayya attended the function.
