THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy is hosting the Fifth International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram during June 8-12. A press statement from the Academy here said it is one of the few festivals in India that showcases documentaries, short fiction, animation and music videos from all over the world. There are also curated sections, retrospectives, seminars and master classes making space for interaction and discussion.

The highlight of the festival is a national-level competition with attractive cash prizes. Competition sections include long and short documentaries, short fiction, animation and music videos. A campus-level competition for films made on Kerala campuses is another highlight of the festival. Eminent international juries select the award-winning films.

Entries have been invited for the competition and non-competition sections. Details with entry forms are available on the website www.iffk.in and www.keralafilm.com. The last date for submitting entries to the Secretary, Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, is April 30.
