Bhagavatha Sapthaham begins

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Sreemad Bhagavatha Sapthaha Yagnam has begun at the Kesavapuram Sreekrishnaswamy temple at Maruthankuzhi here. Noted Bhagavatha exponent Malliyoor Parmeswaran Nampoothiri is leading the yagnam, which will conclude on April 23.

Besides special rituals, ‘annadanam’ is being held on all the yagna days, the temple administartion committee said in a staemtn here on Monday. Everyday the rituals begin at 5 a.m. with nirmalyam.

The Bhagavatha Sapthaha Yajna schedule is as follows:

April 17 (second day): Kapilavatharam, Kapilopadesham, Dakshayagam, Dhruvacharitham, Pruthucharitham, Puranjanopakhyanam and Rishabhavatharam

April 18 (third day): Bharatharahuganasamvadam, bhoogolavarnana, ajamilopakhyanam, vruthasuravadham, narasimhavatharam and prahladasthuthi

April 19 (fourth day): Gajendramoksham, koormavataram, palazhi madhanam, vamanavataram, matsyavataram, sree ramavataram and parasuramavataram

April 20 (fifth day): Balabhadravataram, Sree Krishnavataram, balaleela, govindabhishekam, rasakreeda and kamsavadham

April 21 (sixth day): Rugminiswayamvaram, rajasooyam, kuchelopakhyanam

April 22 (seventh day): Santanagopalam, udhavopadesham, udhavabadareeyatra, swargarohanam, kalki avataram, marakandeyapuranam and avabhruthasnanam. The arattu procession will be taken out at 5 pm on the day.

The Sapthaha samarpana pooja will be held on April 23 at 11 am.
