THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A one-day training programme on production and commercialisation of value-added products from jackfruit began at the Agriculture College, Vellayani here.
NABARD Chief General Manager K C Sasidhar inaugurated the programme. Rufus Daniel (vice-president, District Panchayat) and K Prathapan (Director, State Horticulture Mission) were the chief guests.
Various faculty members of Agriculture University and representatives of various banks addressed the gathering. The programme, attended by 30 participants, will identify value-added products from jackfruit and avenues for their commercial marketing.
