Airport cargo on road: Probe begins

Police officials said that so far no clear evidence has been obtained on how the items had reached the roadside.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Valiyathura police on Sunday  registered a case and started an inquiry into the incident in which four consignments kept at the cargo terminal of the international airport here were found abandoned by the side of the Shangumugham road outside the terminal.

 The incident was noticed by the cargo controller in the morning hours. Four cartons containing clothes and electric fans were spotted outside the terminal.

The matter was immediately reported to the Valiyathura police by the cargo controlling officer Jaya Rajan.

 Police officials said that so far no clear evidence has been obtained on how the items had reached the roadside. They added that the allegation of an ‘insider’s job’ would also be brought under the purview of investigation.
