THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Though the City Corporation has kicked off its pre-monsoon cleanup drive, it has no idea where to take or dump the waste thus collected. Corporation Health Standing Committee chairperson S Pushpalatha, who attended the meeting chaired by Chief Minister to discuss the pre-monsoon cleaning drive on Friday, raised the issue at the meeting. However, the Government had no answer.

‘’The Government has said that a committee consisting of Ministers of the departments concerned and officials will meet on May 2,’’ said Pushpalatha.

At the meeting, a Standing Committee chairperson from Kozhikode said that the Vilappilsala issue had raked up local protests at Njeliyanparambu too, where no issue had existed earlier.

The District Medical Officer said that a vigilant drive could keep away any epidemic outbreak.
