Weapons used for murder recovered

The police on Sunday recovered the weapons used to murder tipper lorry driver Saji in September, from the house of the accused Ammakkorumakan Soju. The country sword and a stainless steel knife were recovered from his house at Chirappalam on Bund Road near Karamana.

The Thampanoor police on Sunday took Soju to the spot- paddy field near the Nedumkad UP School - where his friends him are said to have murdered Saji on September 5.

 Saji was later left to die, bleeding from his wounds, in a by-lane.  The Thampanoor Police said that Soju was taken into custody from judicial custody for further investigation on Friday. After further questioning, he will be presented before the court on Tuesday.

  Gang rivalry had led to the murder of Saji, who reportedly was an accomplice of gangster  Choozhatukotta Ambili. Soju had fled Kerala after the murder, but was picked up from Ajmer, Rajasthan, on Nov 20.
