Swathi Sangeethotsavam from January 4 to 13

The 14th edition of the Swathi Sangeethotsavam will be held from January 4 to 13 in the city. As the state is also celebrating the 200th year of the last ruling king of erstwhile Travancore Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma’s birth, the festival is all spurced up this year with some of the leading names in Indian classical music performing in the city. 

It is a commemorative festival held annually in honour of legenadry musician and composer Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma. One of the most awaited music festivals in the country, the annual event is organised by a trust and under the aegis of Rama Varma, musician and descendant of the royal family.

Sanjay Subrahmanyan,  Prince Rama Varma, J B Sruthisagar (Flute), Amrutha Venkatesh, Sikkil Sri Gurucharan,  Ramakrishnan Murthy, Ranjini Guruprasad, Debapriya Adhikary (Hindustani Vocal), Vighnesh Eashwar, O.S run are among the artistes to perfrom at the festival. The festival will be held at the regular venue of Kuthiramalika Palace , East Fort.
