MobME to launch IPO

 A historic moment was witnessed at College of Engineering, Trivandrum (CET) on 12-12-12 as the home- grown internet company MobME Wireless announced its plan for launching the company’s initial public offer (IPO).

 MobME, registered under the name Torque as a partnership firm in 2005, was initiated be a group of engineering students from CET and SCT who raised capital by selling mobile SIM cards and recharge coupons. It was the first student initiative to be incubated in Technopark.

 “Six years ago, we set out to do something that was unheard in Kerala - start a technology company while still in college. A new breed of entrepreneurs is setting sail from the shores of Kerala,” an ex-CETian, MobME co-founder and CEO Sanjay Vijayakumar said.  Technopark CEO K G Girish Babu and  CET Principal V Gopakumar were present.
