The fifth annual day celebration of Under the Greenwood Tree English Club will be inaugurated by Kerala University former vice-chancellor G Balamohan Thampi at Gandhi Bhavan auditorium on Saturday, at 4 pm.
Former ambassador T P Sreenivasan will be the chief guest. B Hridayakumari will preside over the function. Club working president K P Susheelan and Kerala Gandhi Smarak Nidi secretary V Ramdas will offer felicitations.
‘Under the Greenwood Tree Literary Award 2012’ will be presented to A Jacintha Morris on the occasion. Annamma Joseph, former professor of English, Government College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram and V Saranya, plus-two student, Vidyadhiraja School, Thiruvananthapuram, will be honoured.
The English Club is a non-profit sharing academic association functioning since 2007 comprising eminent professors, university/government officials and members of the public with the aim of promoting the study of English language and literature as well as literary creativity.
