Move to introduce contributory pension flayed

Action Council of State Employees and Teachers has said that the  contributory pension scheme will not have any guarantee on the level of minimum pension.

 Action Council general convenor C R Jose Prakash said that Finance Minister K M Mani had announced in the Assembly that there will not be any guarantee on the level of pension when the contributory pension system is introduced.

 The level of family pension, pension commutation, gratuity and provident fund will be on the basis of the Union Government’s policies. The State Government’s decision to introduce contributory pension was against the assurance given to the employees at the meeting held on August 16, 2012.

State government employees and teachers will go on strike from January 8, 2013 demanding continuation of statutory pension scheme, he said.
