A very special Xmas

A very special Xmas

Sree Chitra Home for Destitutes and Infirm at Pazhavangadi was filled with singing and laughter on Monday. The children had put up a show of songs, dance and a skit celebrating Christmas 2012. There were shouts of excitement as Santa danced his way towards the surging crowd.

“The nativity scene should be created in our hearts and not simply be made outside. I like this season because everybody is happy and there is hardly any room for sadness,” said Robin, 17, a resident of Sree Chitra Home, when asked about what Christmas meant to him.

The sweet tradition of ‘Christmas friend’ is interesting, he added.

The inmates at Kripalayam old age home celebrated Christmas too. Their ailments were not a hindrance for the celebration. The decoration of balloons and confetti had brightened up the place. Sumptuous biriyani and chicken curry were served and cakes distributed. The carol singers who visited the home found a special place in these innocent hearts.

“This season is beautiful as there is lot of love and cheer here,” said 92-year-old Padmavati, her eyes shining.
