Union Minister of State for Human Resources Shashi Tharoor on Wednesday inaugurated the regional training camp for the 70th round of socio-economic survey of the National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO). The survey will be held from January 1 to December 31, 2013.
The survey in the state will cover 160 each panchayat wards and municipal blocks. It will also be held in eight each grama panchayat wards and urban blocks in Lakshadweep. The survey will collect information on land ownership, cattle, debt, savings of the interviewees. NSSO deputy director N A Noushida, deputy director-general Subrata Dhar, DES director V Ramachandran and NSSO assistant director N N Reji attended the function.
