THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Film buffs are familiar with the big names in the Malayalam film industry. Yet how many know the supporting artists, technicians, hair stylists, recordists or studio managers? What are the activities they undertake and for how long have they been in the industry?

Mollywooddirectory.com is expected to answer all these questions.

Promising to be a one-stop destination to find people associated with the Malayalam film-TV industries, mollywooddirectory.com, a website launched by the city-based SB associates and now in its test-run phase, is making the process easy. The site offers a platform for each and everyone associated with the industry to upload their profile.

According to Mithun Mithra, managing director of SB associates, “These days, there are lot many upcoming talents, but unfortunately most of them go unnoticed. By joining this site, all are coming under a single online space of attention.”

In the profile, the person can feed their personal info including name, mobile number, email-id, contact address, photographs, area of work and a self-explanatory note. In the profile, one can add the history of the projects he or she has undertaken and also the list of awards, honours and the details of their upcoming works.

“The site is open for every person associated with the Malayalam film-TV industry. At present, many in the industry are part of some organisation or the other. Here, such a demarcation is not there,” Mithun said. Registering by paying a fixed amount, one can join as a member and utilise the service offered by the site.

The administrators would verify each account so as to prevent duping. Contact details would be made available to only those who are registered users of the site. The site will be updated every three months. Screentouch mollywood directory, the print version, is already available in the market. The official launch of the site is expected to be conducted next month.
