THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the work on the water supply scheme for the multi-crore Vizhinjam International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) Project on Tuesday.
The function is planned at Vizhinjam near the IOC petrol pump. Ministers K Babu, P J Joseph and V S Sivakumar and Mayor K Chandrika will be present. The ` 7-crore project is intended to create a 3.3 MLD (million litres a day) plant which will source water from the Vellayani Lake.
The project is part of the preliminary infrastructure works undertaken by the State Government for the project. Phase I of the ICTT, costing ` 4,010 crore, is expected to be commissioned by 2015.
