THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: : The city-based NGO, Expressions India Society, is conducting a contest on the topic ‘Women of today in different avatars’ in connection with the coming Women’s Day. Contestants have to write, in not more than 500 words, about one woman who has influenced their life the most, be it the mother, the teacher, the wife, the sister, the daughter, the grandmother, the friend or even the lover.
The aim of this contest is to have an insight into the image of the contemporary woman, where she stands and what she is today in others’ lives and how she is looked upon.
The best write-ups, those winning the first second and third prizes, would be given cash prizes of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively. The judging committee would be headed by eminent poetess and writer Rose Mary.
