THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The intensive combing by cops for goondas is showing results. They have nabbed three notorious goondas from the city limits during the past one month’s time.

It was on January 29 that Black Shibu, a notorious goonda, was caught by the police.  Nearly one month later, two other goondas landed in police net. Kiran, one of the goondas in the police list, was booked by a police team a few days back and it was the other day that Sreejith, a close aide of notorious Goonda Soju alias ‘Ammaykkoru Makan’ Soju was arrested.

Police said that Black Shibu, who was released from prison five months back, is a history-sheeter. He was convicted in a highway robbery case, for stealing gold from Tamil Nadu and several other cases. They also said that he could be imprisoned for another one year under KAPPA Act since he had already been convicted under the Act.

There are five cases against Kiran, who was released from prison four months back. Nemom Police said that Kiran is an aide of Goonda Anoop and they concentrate their activities in Vanchiyoor area.

Kiran was arrested by a team led by Fort Assistant Commissioner M Radhakrishnan Nair. The team included Nemom Circle Inspector Anil Kumar, Sub Inspector S Ajayakumar, Assistant  Sub Inspector Raveendran and a few civil police officers.

Sreejith, 23, of Alappuram, was arrested by a team led by Museum Circle Inspector T Mohanan Nair following a tip-off received by Cantonment Assistant Commissioner T Haridas.
