THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Curtains would go up for Elixir 2.0, a pan Indian economic fest, at the Mar Ivanios College on December 12, offering a day of activity and fun. Interesting competitions in debate, quiz, cartooning and critical analysis of several socio-politic issues, will be held as part of the inter-collegiate fest organised by the department of economics in the college.

Ecclesia, the debating competition would measure the participants’ level of awareness and the ability to synthesise information. A team of two, ready to sensibly speak for minutes on a subject, are welcome. The quiz competition, ‘Labyrinth’ is on the look out for knowledge buffs. With a mix of 80 per cent questions from general knowledge and 20 per cent from business and general economics, a two-member team can participate. You have to crack the prelims to reach the finals.

Ready to sketch funny innovations? Walk in for ‘Cartoon Fun’ with a pencil. The topic would be given on the spot. For all who ‘shout the loudest’ out there, ‘The Economist’, is for you. Switch on your critical brain and open up on the current socio-political and economic conditions.

The competition is conducted through  preliminary and main categories. Attractive prize money is awaiting the winners of the fest. For ‘Ecclesia’ and ‘The Labyrinth’, the winners of the first, second and third places will receive Rs 5000, 3000 and 2000 respectively. For cartoon fun, its will be Rs 4000, 2000 and 1000.
