THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Latin Archbishop M Soosai Pakiam has urged the govt to speedily enact legislation for the workers in the unorganised sector. He asked the state and Central Govts to enact legislation to safeguard the rights of household workers in line with the International Labour Organisation’s Geneva convention.

“There should not be any laxity on the part of the government in providing solace to these hapless workers,” the Archbishop said, while inaugurating the state conference of the Kerala Labour movement and the state-level symposium on ‘ILO convention and household employees’ convened by the Kerala Catholic Bishop Conference (KCBC), here.
