THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Hospital Employees’ Association (AITUC) on Wednesday staged a dharna in front of the Secretariat demanding government intervention for rectifying the alleged malpractices at the SUT Hospital. In a statement here, the Association demanded that the Labour Department should intervene to get the hospital release the staff’s salary for the month of December.
CPI national executive committee member Pannian Raveendran, who inaugurated the dharna, urged the Government to ensure that managements of private hospitals follow the service conditions. He also urged the Labour Department to intervene urgently to get the December salary released.
Staff nurses, nursing assistants, pharmacists, CT and x-ray technicians and other staff of the hospital attended the dharna, the statement said. Association general secretary Pattom Sasidharan presided over the function.
