THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The SFI state secretariat has demanded the government to withdraw from the move to raise the retirement age of government ayurveda and homoeo college teachers. In a release here on Thursday, the state committee alleged that the government was doing injustice to the unemployed youth who have qualifications to be appointed to the posts.

If the retirement age is raised, no appointments will take place for the next five years.

The government should take steps to report the vacancies of teachers and various other posts at the ayurveda and homoeo colleges in the state, the statement said. The SFI also warned the State Government of severe consequences if the latter went ahead with the move to raise retirement age.
