THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Individuals, institutions and voluntary organisations should come forward to conduct road safety awareness programmes, said Transport Minister V S Sivakumar.

 He was speaking after inaugurating the road safety awareness rally organised by Hercules Automobiles here on Monday. A majority of the road accidents in the state are avoidable if traffic rules are observed, said City Police Commissioner T J Jose.

Hercules Automobiles managing director Abdul Latheef presided over the function. State Protocol officer T P Jayakumar, Additional Secretary N Parameswarakumar, Kovalam Suresh, Paraniyam Devakumar, Hercules executive director A M Salim and M Santhi spoke. Around 30 two- wheelers participated in the rally.
