Five Malayalis die in mishap in Oman

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Six Indians, including five Keralites, died in an accident in Sultanate of Oman on Sunday evening.  The deceased have been identified as Prasad Balakrishna Pilla

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Six Indians, including five Keralites, died in an accident in Sultanate of Oman on Sunday evening.

 The deceased have been identified as Prasad Balakrishna Pillai,  34, Gomez Anil, 43, Vishnu Bhargavan, 42, Shivakumar Unnikrishna Pillai, 29, and Anil Kumar Sadanandan, 35.  The other person who died in the mishap hails from Marthandam in Tamil Nadu. According to primary reports, all the Keralites hail from  Thiruvananthapuram district.  It is learnt that an Omani national also died in the accident.

 The incident occurred at Al Mamoor Road in Bahala when the van in which they were travelling collided with a pick-up van around 5 p.m. (IST).  The bodies have been kept in two hospitals.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also urged the Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Vayalar Ravi, to help bring back the bodies of the five Keralites who died in a road accident in Oman.
