THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An exclusive web portal designed for ‘Emerging Kerala’ was launched by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here on Friday.

The website www.emerging kerala2012.org provides a comprehensive set of information related to the conduct of the event, ‘Emerging Kerala-2012’, which would be held in Kochi from September 12 to 14.

The Emerging Kerala portal captures the essence of the event, proposed to be a Biennial Global Connect. The portal would be the medium to connect various stakeholders of ‘Emerging Kerala’ on a common platform.

The website would be a one-stop-shop for all information related to the event- from concept to culmination.

The website offers online registration facility for participants, programme and venue details, and a constantly growing bank of projects, ideas and opportunities.

It is also proposed to link social media and blogging platforms to provide avenues for discussion on ‘Emerging Kerala’ from now to the event and beyond.

It also shares the inherent strengths that Kerala has and the policies that the government has initiated for laying the foundations for economic growth and progress.

District profiles provide the socio-economic highlights of each of the 14 districts in Kerala and the  opportunities that exist there from a business and investment perspective.

The website also features a section on project ideas and investment opportunities that exist in the state for an entrepreneur.

These would showcase profiles and ideas from small opportunities in the SME space to the large ones- mega projects- the state envisages, especially in the area of infrastructure development.
