THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Air Chief Marshal N A K Browne, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), will arrive in Thiruvananthpuram on a two-day visit on Tuesday. This is his first visit to the Southern Air Command (SAC) as Air Chief and he will be inaugurating the SAC Commanders’ Conference on Wednesday.

 He will also address the personnel of the SAC during his visit, a Defence spokesperson said. His visit assumes significance against the backdrop of the growing importance of SAC in the southern peninsula and the Indian Ocean region.

 Browne has rich experience of operational flying, training and staff assignments. A graduate of the Air Command and Staff College, the US, Browne has held many key posts before  took over as Air Chief on July 31, 2011.

 On this visit, he will be accompanied by his wife Kiran Browne, president, Air Force Wives’ Welfare Association (AFWWA). She will also be addressing the Board of Management Meeting of AFWWA.
