THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A report submitted by the police in the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court here on Tuesday states that businessman Xavi Mano Mathew  had pledged about 160 acres of government ‘poramboke’ land near Vithura with a bank to avail of a Rs 8-crore loan.

 The report submitted by the Thiruvananthapuram Rural DySP R Mahesh stated that about 1,000 acres of land was pledged with the bank by Xavi. Of this, 160 acres was found to be ‘poramboke’.

 The police also sought the bank authorities to produce the land deed given by Xavi for availing of the loan.

 Earlier, a portion of the land, which is now in question, was handed over to the Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) for the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IISST) by Xavi.
