THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM district secretary Kadakampally Surendran has said that R Selvaraj himself had exposed all the ‘lies’ spread about his resignation from the Assembly.

Kadakampally told a news conference in Neyyattinkara on Monday that while resigning from the post of MLA, Selvaraj had said that it would be suicidal for him to join the UDF. Now he says he would not have any objection in seeking the support of the UDF. He made the allegation that he was the only MLA who was not made a delegate in the CPM conference. In fact there were two more MLAs who were not made delegates.

He also said that he was not made a delegate during the first state conference too.

Kadakampally said that it was Anavaoor Nagappan  who was in charge of the election campaign when Selvaraj contested twice from Neyyattinkara.

Though Selvaraj was given the Neyyattinkara seat, he was not confident of winning the election. Here too the party ensured that he would win the elections with a good margin.

He said that if Selvaraj’s wife and children were aware of his plans to resign from the party, they would not have agreed.

The party had  provided his wife a job in the Cooperative Bank. His children also had good relationship with the party.

Kadakampally rejected the allegation of threat to attack Selvaraj and his family. He said a public meeting to be attended by Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan would be held in  Neyyattinkara on April 2 to explain the party’s stance on various issues.
