THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The joint entrance examination for the three-year degree programme in Hospitality and Hotel Administration, under the aegis of the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, the apex body under the Union Ministry of Tourism, would be held on April 28.
Classes are slated to begin on August 1. The courses in hospitality education stream are being offered through 51 affiliated institutes of Hotel Management under the IHMCT.
“Besides the hospitality and restaurant industry, students can find placement in in-flight catering, railways, cruise liners, Armed Forces, insurance and banking and other service-oriented companies,” said George Alexander, administrative officer, IHMCT, Kovalam, here.
One hundred-per cent placement through campus recruitment is one major attraction for those taking up the course. Vast majority of successful students pursue MBA course and other post-graduate programmes in Indian and foreign universities.

In Kerala, application forms and information brochures would be available till April 9 at the Kovalam Institute; Axis Bank branches in Condor Plaza, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram; Chicago Plaza, Rajaji Road, Ernakulam and the main branch in Ernakulam and Bank of Baroda, Karimpanal Arcade here.
The cost of application form is ` 900 for general and OBC categories and ` 450 for SC/ST category. Filled in application forms should be sent to the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology, A-34, sector-62, Noida- 201 309 by speed post, latest by April 13, 2012.
