THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The performance excellence awards for the year 2010-11 in public sector units under the Kerala Industries Department had been announced. The Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd, Chavara, Kollam, bagged the outstanding award in enterprise performance.

The other award winners are S Venkadeeswaran, managing director Transformers and Electricals Kerala Ltd, Angamaly South, for corporate leadership, Steel and Industrial Forgings Ltd, Athani and Kerala Clays and Ceramic Products Ltd, Pappinisseri, for notable enterprise performance, Saji Basheer, managing director, Kerala Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd (SIDCO), for notable corporate leadership and Thanesh Thampi, staff reporter, Managalam Daily, Thiruvananthapuram, for outstanding achievement in industry reporting - print media.

 The government had constituted a committee with secretary (Industries -IP) as its chairman and chairman RIAB, special secretary, Industries (IP), general manager SBI, general manager SBT, E M Najeeb, president, Thiruvananthapuram Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Biju Mohan R, specialist, RIAB as members to decide on the awards.  

The awards would be distributed by Finance Minister K M Mani at a function to be held at the Symphony Hall, Mascot Hotel, here on Thursday.

Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty will preside.
