THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state police stated in a court here on Wednesday that there were six more persons to be arrested in the controversial e-mail snooping case. The police also informed the Judicial First Class Magistrate court that Biju Salim, the first accused in the case and High-tech Cell Sub Inspector under suspension had close links with some banned extremist organisations.

Opposing Biju’s bail plea, the police said if he was given bail, there was high possibility that evidence would be destroyed.

The police also found that the outpatient register of the Homoeo Medical College in Iranimuttam was tampered with for issuing fake medical certificates to Biju.

“The second accused in the case, Dr V S Dasthagir, chief medical officer at the Homoeo Medical College, had used his influence to issue medical certificates through junior doctors several times,” the police report said. Dasthagir is absconding.

The court would pronounce its order on the bail plea on Thursday.
