THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI state council has flayed the decision of KSEB and the State Government to enforce load shedding in the state.

In a statement issued here, they said that the previous LDF Government had not imposed load shedding in the state even for a day. It is inefficiency of the board and the government that has led to this crisis situation.

That the KSEB or the government made no moves to go ahead with the mini hydel projects such as the ones in Mattupetti or Chimmini is a criminal offence. There is also a stand-still in the production of electricity from alternative energy sources and the government has not been able to get the eligible quota from the Central pool.

They alleged that the electricity crisis is an artificially created one, with covert moves to privatise KSEB. The CPI state council has requested the withdrawal of the move to impose load shedding.
