Aimed at the welfare of Army personnel, the government has decided to give the profit from the sales of the Christmas-New Year bumper lottery to the Flag Day fund.
The new bumper has been named Christmas-New Year Bumper for Jawan. Announcing this, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said that it was the duty of each and every citizen to take part for the welfare of Army personnel.
He also said that everyone should come forward for the welfare of ex-servicemen, widows of those who died in battles and those injured in the war front. He said this while handing over the model of the bumper to Sainik Welfare Director K K Govindan Nair and Tax Secretary K Ajith Kumar.
