Auto-taxi strike from Wednesday night

The Joint Action Council of various motor employees unions will start an indefinite strike from Wednesday midnight onwards in the district, demanding a revision in auto-taxi fares. 

The decision was taken by the leaders of various motor employees unions.

The union members would organise torch processions at autorickshaw-taxi stands on Wednesday evening.

The union members would take out a protest march to the Secretariat on Thursday at 10 am. The Joint Action Council comprising leaders of CITU, AITUC, INTUC, STU, BMS and HMS took part in the meeting.
