National workshop on IPR begins Friday

Kerala Law Academy and Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) are jointly organising a two-day national workshop on ‘Role of intellectual property rights in the knowledge era’ on November 16 and 17.

 The workshop will be inaugurated by V D Satheesan MLA at 9.30 am on Friday at Kerala Law Academy Law College Conference Hall, Peroorkada. The presidential address will be delivered by Prof M M Madhavan Potty (vice-principal, Kerala Law Academy Law College). It will be followed by a keynote address by V P Balagangadharan, (Advisor, VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram). Prof  S Usha (Principal, Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram) will offer felicitations.

 The objective of the workshop is to inculcate knowledge in the students and the research scholars on various aspects of intellectual property rights and its relevance in protection of biodiversity, traditional knowledge etc.  Students, research scholars and faculty from across the state are expected to participate in the event.
