Shreya P Shenoi, a class 3 student of St Thomas Central School, Mukkolakkal won the gold medal for skating race (Rink 2 event) in the 6 – 8 girls’ category at the State Roller Skating Championship held at Pathanamthitta last week. She also won the bronze for Road Race. Shreya, an avid skater since the age of four, is the daughter of Praveen P Shenoi, manager at Torrent Pharma, and Vidya Praveen, a teacher at LeCole Kindergarten.
Arjun P K, a student of Christ Nagar, Thiruvallom, also in class 3, won two silver medals in the Time Trial - a 300 m dash where individuals are tested for their speed and stamina- and Road Race – roller skating race – at the State championships. Arjun is the son of Kavita and Pradeep S of Sreevarahom. The state championship, which was held at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium at Pathanamthitta, saw a variety of events like speed and artistic skating, relay races etc for children below 6 years and upto 16 years.
