Aadhar enrolment: Directive to headmasters

A meeting convened on Unique Identification (UID) and National Population Register (NPR) has informed the headmasters of all the schools that benefits to students such as scholarships and grants, issue of certificates and participation in competitions will not be granted if the students have not been enrolled in Aadhaar by the end of March 2013.

The meeting convened by Principal Secretary, Information Technology, stated that the government planned to link to Aadhaar by April, 2014, the payment of welfare schemes, scholarships and other government services. The Aadhaar in operation would have far-reaching impact on society, in terms of eliminating duplication of beneficiaries, making the service delivery of the government faster and transparent.

On the review of the ongoing enrolment process, it was observed that children enrolment has not come up to the expectation.

To increase the rate of enrolment, the service of headmasters will be utilised for spreading the message.  All the DEOs, AEOs and head of schools have been instructed to take all possible steps to complete the enrolment of school children to Aadhaar and NPR under their administrative control.
