Salary hike for doctors on NRHM contract

The salary of doctors appointed on contract basis through NRHM has been increased. It would come into effect next month.

 Health Minister V S Sivakumar said here on Monday that the salary of doctors who have MBBS degree has been increased to Rs 32,000 from Rs 27,140. The doctors who have a postgraduate degree will be getting Rs 37,000 whereas they are now getting Rs 32,140. 

 Those doctors having MBBS degree and PG diploma will be getting Rs 35,000. Earlier, their salary was Rs 30,140. The doctors with MBBS degree working in the districts of Idukki, Palakkad, Wayanad and Kasargode will be getting Rs 40,000 as salary. Those having an additional PG diploma will be getting Rs 43,000 for working in the above mentioned districts. Those doctors having PG degree will get Rs 45,000 for working in the above four districts.

 The salary of doctors having BDS degree has been increased from Rs 21,800 to Rs 27,000.

Those having BDS and PG degree will be getting Rs 32,000.
