As part of understanding Gandhiji in today’s socio-economic-political scenario, the Kerala Gandhi Smarak Nidhi has introduced a seven module foundation course on Gandhian strategies for youth.
Kerala University Vice- Chancellor A Jayakrishnan will inaugurate the class for the first batch on Monday at Gandhi Bhavan, Thycaud.
30 youth and women activists from Thiruvananthapuram and adjoining places have enrolled for this special course.
The course is being conducted under the leadership of well known Gandhian and scholar N Radhakrishnan. The faculty includes V Ramdas, V Reghu, N Gopalakrishnan, N Nanukuttan Nair, Jacob Pulicken, G Sadanandan and M Sivasankaran Nair. This innovative course, which will be held in evenings, include topics such as Gandhian development perspectives, Gandhian alternatives, Gandhian views as cornerstones of nonviolent socio-economic and political transformation, social justice and Gandhian strivings, Women empowerment and Gandhiji’s role, The changing contours of today’s life and Gandhian Ethics, Gandhi, after Gandhi- A Critique. The programme is structured as an interactive, discussion oriented and analytical mode, wherein each session will be led by two experts who will initiate the discussion which will be followed by analysis of the focused topics.
