The police have started investigation into the death of an Additional Sub -Inspector who was found hanging in a room of a lodge on Friday.
Sreekantan Nair, 56, an ASI with the City Police control room had left a suicide note in which it was mentioned that he was mentally upset as he feared his retirement benefits may be affected owing to a case pending against him as part of his official duty. In the note there was also reference to a police officer, it is learnt. ‘’We are investigating the case with special focus on the references in the suicide note,’’ said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law Order) Putta Vimaladitya.
