Excise guard attacked

An excise guard was injured in an attack allegedly by sand- mining mafia on Friday night.  Shihabudheen, 43, of Areepra check-post was injured in the attack. Police identified the accused as Justinraj alias Unni, 31; Libinraj, 27, both brothers and Sanalkumar, 39.  The trio, hailing from Areepra, is absconding. They attacked Shihabudheen when he was going to the Excise Range office from the check-post. 

According to police they attacked Shihabudheen as he resisted illegal transportation of sand through the check-post. Shihabudheen took treatment at the Taluk Hospital.
