Health Minister V S Sivakumar on Saturday said that the land acquisition for the first phase of the Karamana - Kaliyikkavila four-lane road had been completed.The first phase is from Karamana to Pravachambalam.
The district purchase committee for roads had met from April 3 to 6 and the basic price of the land was fixed. From Karamana to Pappanamcode, the price fixed was Rs 12,95,000; Pappanamcode to Karakkamandapam Rs 11,45,364; Karakkamandapam to Vellayani Rs 11,30,468 and Vellayani to Pravachambalam Rs 11,53,078.
The price was accepted by the state-level empowered committee headed by the Chief Secretary and after the beneficiaries sign the 10 A agreement, the order will be issued by the District Collector. A meeting to be chaired by Oommen Chandy will be held on April 16 to discuss the formalities to distribute the compensation on time and to evaluate the progress of the work.
