Stone laid for ESIC dispensary

Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Kodikunnil Suresh  on Saturday laid the foundation stone for the  ESI dispensary sanctioned at Navaikulam and also a ESIC branch office, both  at a function held at Navaikulam near Kallambalam.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that since the last five months after he had taken over, projects related to more than five ESI dispensaries, the office of DIMS including ESIC’s branch office and liaison Office, Thiruvananthapuram, branch office at Ernakulam were accomplished, in addition to the new building opened for ESIC office at Asramam, Kollam.

ESIC is continuously expanding its infrastructure as well as its network of health service delivery to reach out to maximum number of beneficiaries.

The services of four doctors will be available at the ESI dispensary at Navaikulam.

The ESIC branch office at Navaikulam will cater to the medical care and cash benefit needs of insured persons and their family members who live in the vicinity.

The building for the ESI dispensary and branch office will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.36 crore.

The dispensary building will follow the norms of Medical Council of India.

The function was attended by A Sampath MP, Varkala Kahar MLA, K Suresh Babu, director board member, ESIC, S K G Rahate and S C Chakraborty, commissioner, ESIC headquarters.
