The four-day All-India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board (AIPSSPB) Table Tennis Tournament organised by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) ended on a colourful note at the G V Raja Indoor Stadium here on Tuesday.
The table tennis tourney witnessed some intense competition among players in various categories. Among the several highlights were the determination shown by the players in the singles’ final while giving their best in the court and at the same time playing the game with the true spirit.
Sharath Kamal of IOC won the men’s single title and Ankitha Das of Oil India Limited (OIL) won the women’s title. IOC’s Soumyadeep Roy and Sourav Chakraborty defeated Nithin Thiruvengadam and Sushmit Sriram of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) to win the doubles’ title in men’s category. Madhurika Patkar and Pooja Sahasrabudhe of ONGC won the women’s doubles match.Indian Oil Corporation Kerala General Manger A Pandiyan, Sports Council president Padmini Thomas and actor Murali Gopi were present at the valedictory function and gave away the prizes.
