AIPGDEE Mandatory for PG Dental Admission

Admission to Post Graduate Dental courses (MDS) in government colleges and 50 per cent seats in self-financing colleges will be on the basis of the rank secured by candidates in the All India Post Graduate Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGDEE-2014).

Admission to Post Graduate Dental courses (MDS) in government colleges and 50 per cent seats in self-financing colleges will be on the basis of the rank secured by candidates in the All India Post Graduate Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGDEE-2014).

‘’Candidates aspiring for PG Dental courses in the state of Kerala shall have to appear for the AIPGDEE-2014 conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and qualify in the examination,’’ a recent notification issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE) said.

The prospectus for admission to Post Graduate Dental (MDS) courses shall be issued by the Director of Medical Education with the approval of the government every year.

The CEE shall be the authority for conducting the allotment and admission in the state quota seats for the academic year 2014-15, observing the prevailing reservation principles for admission, it said.

‘’A notification inviting applications from candidates will be issued on December 27,’’ a senior official of the Directorate of Medical Education said.

Unlike the previous year, admission to state quota seats will be conducted only after the first round of admission to all-India quota seats are completed, the official said.

AIPGDEE-2014 will be an online examination and will be held across India on January 25.

The last date for submitting online application form is 31 December 2013.

Thiruvananthapuram is the only other exam centre in South India apart from Chennai.
