Mother Tongue Day in School

The International Mother Tongue Day was celebrated at Trivandrum Scottish School under the aegis of the Indo-International Friendship Society.

Learning a language will become easier if school students are encouraged to read newspapers daily from class V onwards, said D Wilfred Robin, president of the society. Additionally, newspaper reading will also help students in the development of their personality, he said. As part of the celebrations, the society organised an exhibition of newspapers at the school.

Students also read out the main news items in class.

School manager Usha Shah inaugurated the exhibition.
