Stating that the government has not taken any action for retrieving the Pathrakulam tank, the Thiruvananthapuram Citizens’ Protection Forum said that it would stage a protest in front of the Secretariat on May 14 demanding immediate reclamation of the historic tank.

The Protection Forum said that its activists would also go on a fast in front of the Secretariat in cooperation with the Pathrakulam Action Council. Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan will inaugurate the agitation, they said.

In his report on the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple, amicus curiae Gopal Subramaniam had blamed the authorities for failing to evict the encroachers of Pathrakulam.

The activists alleged that there were reports that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was all out for giving away the reclaimed Pathrakulam tank to a private organisation.
