Exit Polls Cannot be Trusted Completely: VS

Referring to exit poll predictions, Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan said that exit poll results could not be believed completely.

Referring to exit poll predictions, Opposition  leader V S Achuthanandan said that exit poll results could not be believed completely.

“Many national channels have predicted results adding glow to Narendra Modi. Compared to the surveys by those channels, I feel we can depend on the survey conducted by a local television channel here. I do not believe the exit poll predictions completely,” he said.

Achuthanandan told a news conference here on Wednesday that  it was better to wait for two more days to know the real results.

Asked whether he accepted the exit poll predictions that LDF would get 12 seats out of 20, Achuthanandan said that his expectations were also on that line.

“LDF will do well in Kerala. We may get 12 to 13 seats. Despite the attacks by Trinamool Congress workers, the Left Front will improve its tally in West Bengal also,” he said.

When pointed out that CPI leader A B Bardhan had stated that  to keep the BJP away from power, the Left would not mind cooperating with Mamata Banerjee, Achuthanandan said that he could not agree to this view.

“Mamata’s party had been unleashing terror on the people in West Bengal.

“They have violated all norms to sabotage the poll process.

“I cannot agree to the view that Left parties would not mind cooperating with Mamata,” he said.

The Opposition leader said that he did not think there would be any political change in the state soon after the poll results.

Referring to the bus fare hike, Achuthanandan said that as far as the UDF Government continues in power it would be days of hardship for the poor and common men and profit and concessions for the rich.
