Operation Kuber: 243 Raids in state

As part of Operation Kuber, the state police conducted 243 raids across the state on Sunday, DGP K S Balasubramanian said.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of Operation Kuber, the state police conducted 243 raids across the state on Sunday, DGP K S Balasubramanian said. Around eight people were nabbed and 28 cases were registered as part of the raid. The cases have been registered under the Kerala Money-lenders Act. The police seized Rs 6 lakh cash and documents including blank cheques, title deeds and vehicle registration certificates during the raids. Five motor bikes and a car were also seized from Ernakulam. “The steps to nab illegal and exorbitant money lenders will continue in the following days,” the DGP said. Till now, 4,904 raids have been conducted across the state in which 732 cases were registered and as many as 436 were arrested.
